Overview

This one another instalment of the ‘Double Stop’ family (the group of Robert Johnson songs in the key of A, Standard tuning), and a good one to really test how much these moves feel under your fingers.

Definitely, the theme throughout this family is the mellow, relaxed quality.. those are some of the words that best describe how these feel, so getting the basics of the moves, and then from there figuring out your own moves that work well in and around those shapes – more so making it your own, and almost breaking out of the mould of the shapes that shown to the right – is a good recipe for success to achieve that relaxed tone.

The feel, the lyrics, all of it makes for a great RJ song, and one that is a good test to ensure that all of these moves are going well with the fingers. Hope you like this one!

Standard — EADGBE

I got a kind hearted Mama
Do anything in this world for me
I got a kind hearted Mama
Do anything in this world for me
But these evil-hearted women
Man, they will not let me be

I love my baby
My baby don’t love me
I love my baby, oooh
My baby don’t love me
But I really love that woman
Can’t stand to leave her be

A-ain’t but the one thing
Makes Mister Johnson drink
I’s worried ’bout how you treat me, baby
I begin to think
Oh babe, my life don’t feel the same
You breaks my heart
When you call Mister So-and-So’s name

She’s a kindhearted woman
She studies evil all the time
She’s a kindhearted woman
She studies evil all the time
You well’s to kill me
As to have it on your mind
